In recent years there have been a growing number of complaints directed towards McGill regarding noise, vandalism, and disturbances in the adjacent Milton-Parc neighbourhood. I wrote this report last summer for the Student Society of McGill university (SSMU). It hopes to inform the efforts of SSMU and of other stakeholders who wish to alleviate the problems associated with an increased student presence in this residential area.

Ater a historical survey of the socio-demographic development of the area, I look at the phenomenon of studentification and the best practices alleviating its negative effects on a community.
